Navionics Silver electronic cartography supply recreational boaters with familiar easy-to-read paper-like charts. Based on official NOAA charts, the product delivers Navionics' unparalleled accuracy and detail at the price of competitors' base map offerings. It is the ideal solution for boaters who require basic navigation capabilities but are unwilling to compromise quality. Navionics Silver features a new "All-in-One" format with the largest coverage size available; U.S. cartography is loaded on one plug-and-play chip for convenient access. Navionics Intelligent Clarity makes it easy to see detail at all zoom levels. User selectable safety depth contours and navaids with Xplain (additional information on landmarks and navigational markers) give boaters the information and clarity required for safe boating. Silver is also NavPlanner-compatible allowing boaters the option of preplanning their route on a computer and then uploading it into their chartplotter.
What are the differences between Navionics Silver and Navionics Gold+?
- Navionics Silver packs the entire United States East Coast, West Coast, Gulf Coast and Great Lakes onto one pre-programmed data card; Navionics Gold+ requires you to select a card for your individual region.
- Navionics detail only goes to the 150' depth contour mark. Navionics Gold+ Charts go deeper and also allow you to send in for the free Fish'N'Chip, which provides high-definition bathymetric detail.
- The Gold+ charts have coastal roads and enhanced port services. As you zoom in, you can see a "port plan" and get more detail in a port area on Gold+ charts than on Silver charts, which will carry only basic information.
