Before you can begin installing RayTech RNS, you need to make sure that the PC you intend to use meets the minimum hardware requirements for running the software. While RayTech RNS will run successfully on the minimum requirement, for best performance, the optimum requirements are recommended.
Minimum System Requirements:
- Pentium(r) III 1 GHz processor.
- 128 MB RAM.
- Windows 2000/XP.
- CD-ROM drive.
- Serial port.
- PCMCIA port (for Pathfinder PC hsb2 integration)
- Monitor - capable of displaying 800 x 600 resolution, 16 bit color.
Note: If your PC is not equipped with serial or PCMCIA card bus ports, refer to this list of adapter recommendations below. Failure to use the recommended adapters may result in poor system performance.
Optimum System Requirements
- Pentium IV processor or faster (or equivalent).
- 256 MB RAM or higher.
- NVIDIA GeForce 4 graphics processor.
- Windows XP.
- Monitor - capable of displaying 1024 x 768 resolution, 16 bit color.
Video Driver Updates
RayTech RNS 5.0 is a graphics intensive application. For optimal performance, Raymarine recommends installing the latest video driver update for your PC's graphics hardware. For desktop systems, these updates are available from the graphics hardware manufacturer, or possibly through the Microsoft Windows Update service. Notebook PC users should obtain the latest video driver update from the PC manufacturer.
